Brother John's Heart's Desire...

By Pamela Rae Schuffert presenting investigative journalism from a Biblical Christian perspective.

I am writing this article especially for John. We have discussed this in depth, and finally I decided to share this special desire of John's with my readers.

John with beloved Rev. Edward Brouwer
of Christ Community Church visiting him

Every day when I come to visit John and minister to him, there is one thing that bothers me terribly.  I am not able to take him in my vehicle to get him out of the confines of his nursing home. His physical conditions are too restricting for even me to handle (and I have taken many patients out in my vehicle previously for special trips out of nursing homes to minister to them.)

He can no longer stand on his feet. He is too heavy for me to transfer him from his wheelchair to my vehicle (John is 6 foot, three inches tall and weighs over 200 pounds.)

But as John has told me, he so desires to be able to get out with me, go to a restaurant and go shopping for personal items, and see something other than the four walls of his room in the nursing home. And the one thing I CAN do, is push John in the wheelchair that his nursing home provides.

In fact, John has not been able to do this FOR THREE YEARS NOW. He has only seen the inside of hospitals and nursing homes for these past three years! In Tulsa, Oklahoma, he was in the ICU unit for 5 long months, flat on his back and hooked up to life saving equipment. It cost this hospital over one million dollars to save John's life from pneumonia and complications requiring invasive surgery, even cutting through several ribs.

When ROUND-ABOUT WHEELCHAIR TRANSPORT SERVICES (that BEYSTONE NURSING HOME uses to transport patients like John to the nearby hospital for wound care) came to pick up John for his doctor's appointment, I quickly obtained a brochure from them. I so wanted to be able to contact them for private transportation for John so I could take him out on a special trip at last.

But when I contacted this transport company in Asheville, they informed me that it would cost between $140.00 and $160.00 for 2-3- hours of an outing with John that would include shopping in a local store and eating at a restaurant.

I was crushed. This was simply not affordable for me at this time. I had wanted to do this for John, in fact, at Christmas time so he could see the beautiful lights and decorations and displays and enjoy holiday food and shopping...something he has not done in three years now.

And so, John and I have been praying together in his room every time I visit, for financial grace to be able to do this for him at last. I explained to him that my budget was very limited, with every cent having to cover my gas and food and personal expenses (phone, storage unit, car insurance, gas, etc.), plus his vitamins and health food supplements to help him recover. Support is often sporadic, limited, and uncertain at times.

If you would like to help make possible this special gift for John that means so much to him at this time, you can! You can send support marked for JOHN'S TRIP either through my PAYPAL button at the front of the blog, or sending contributions in the mail.

Much of John's depression he frequently battles is linked with his being confined day after day in a nursing home filled with people in various states of illness or dementia. I have noticed that when John gets depressed, his health goes down as well. This deeply concerns me.

He so wants to get out, to go to a church and meet other Christians, and to escape these confines once in a while....and who could blame him? I find that I can only bear to spend so much time there myself. Such institutions can be very depressing.

So CONTACT US if you would like to minister to John's deep need to get out.

Our mailing address is: PO Box 724, Montreat, NC, 28757 (Please make out any check or money order to ME, since John has no bank account of his own yet. He has to be personally present in a bank to set an account up, and he cannot do this yet.)

Or, you can use the PAYPAL button on the front of my blog, and simply leave the message that this is designated for JOHN'S TRANSPORTATION.

(I just talked to Round-About transportation on the phone, and they told me they prefer that I set up a personal account outside of them, and simply bring them the funds when I recieve enough to sponsor a trip for John.)

Thank you from the depths of our hearts for helping to make this possible! I am going to let John personally dictate his message of "THANKS" for reader support for his transportation to get him out, and let him express his thanks and what his experience of finally being able to travel was like...and then post it for all my readers to enjoy.

God bless you all! Thank you for your prayers for BOTH of us. And continue to WATCH AND PRAY as world and national events so rapidly unfold, telling us indeed that we are living in the END TIMES prophesied in the Bible.

We can even see from the nuclear tragedy continuing to unfold from Japan,  with ocean life and people and wildlife becoming sick or dying on a major scale (and it's only getting worse)that the words of Jesus are SO TRUE when He warned that IF these days were not cut short (by His return) that there would be NO LIVING THING LEFT ON PLANET EARTH!

How true.
MARANATHA!
Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

Miracle! Brother Recovering Safely in New Nursing Home

By Pamela Rae Schuffert presenting investigative journalism from a Biblical Christian perspective-

Thank you all for your prayers and your support! Today, John was finally discharged from the hospital and taken to his new nursing home at last. He now has his own private room. I have briefed the nursing home staff about his previous nightmare in the former nursing home, and  how I expect this form of neglect to never be repeated again in this nursing home.

The wonderful hospital that provided stellar care for John is called PARK RIDGE in Fletcher, NC. It is a fully Christian 7th Day Adventist operated hospital, and Jesus Christ is always welcome in every aspect of their operations.

The staff was wonderful, and had it not been for the quick actions of Dr. Stover who ordered x-rays and MRI's for John, and then proceeded with life-saving emergency surgery, John would have died by Sunday from sepsis.

When he was admitted on Thursday night in the emergency room, his white blood cell count was 22.9. He was incoherent, his eyes rolling and unable to understand anything, as they desperately searched for veins to insert IV needles and antibiotic drips into him. And from the time he was admitted last Thursday night, the staff worked 24/7 to save his life.

Both Dr. Stover and Dr. Kim admitted that John's injuries were due to gross neglect and malpractice in his former nursing home, and recommended he be placed in another facility.

Thank God, PARK RIDGE helped to locate an excellent one for John, and now he is resting comfortably in his new bed and room tonight. Halleluia! Praise be unto God Almighty through Jesus Christ His Son!

All of this has been hard on both of us, of course. For me, it has been hard due to the terrible pain and partial paralysis and numbness I have been battling in my left arm and shoulder and neck...and yet trying to still be there for my brother as well.

But thanks be unto God, who always gives us the victory through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. John is alive and recovering! But he still has a long way to go. Your prayers and support through this difficult time is so appreciated by both of us. We are both weary from this ordeal, but thankful to God and to ALL OF YOU who helped to make this very real miracle possible.

My Brother is Suffering...Pray For Him

By Pamela Rae Schuffert presenting investigative journalism from a Biblical Christian perspective-

YOUR PRAYERS ARE NEEDED FOR MY BROTHER JOHN

This is one of the hardest things a family member can endure. I am sitting next to my brother in a nursing home, watching him groan in deep pain and cry...and there is nothing I can do to alleviate this but pray. I will be using Sylvia's anointing oil that she so kindly sent me to use in ministry, to anoint John daily and to pray as I sit by his side.

When I asked him what part of his body was hurting, he said his whole body hurt. I am forced to listen as my brother cries and begs God to heal him and take away the pain. Our prayers together now do not stop because of the excruciating pain he endures daily. Unfortunately, pain medication and therapy can only do so much.

The persistent pain in my shoulder and arm from my recent  lifting injury at the ranch in Minnesota does not help, either, since I am here to help alleviate and minister to HIS pain. Just pray that God will expedite my complete healing, so I can fully minister to John and perform other ministry God has called me to in this region.
My brother's feet give him great pain, as well as his legs. His left foot was recently injured, causing decubitis or a bed sore. Below is the foot with the bedsore (not visible, on sole of foot.)

My prayers for John at this point are very realistic and practical, and he knows it. He is lingering in a terrible bed of pain and suffering. In his present condition, he cannot even get out of bed, and when they do assist him to do so, the pain is unbearable. He cannot walk, he cannot sit up unassisted. And he goes through this terrible bout of excruciating pain manifesting every single day.

As I told his nurse, I am praying that God will either heal him through his and our faith in Jesus Christ and the power of prayer, or that He will take my brother home to be with Jesus at last, free from a body of suffering and pain forever. I am praying that he does not have to linger in this netherworld of endless hospitalization, pain medications, a dysfunctional body and chronic pain and suffering.
Standing united in the promises of God

Please pray with John and I. It is incredibly difficult to have to sit by his bedside and watch him endure torment and pain. Only a divine miracle from an Almighty God through Jesus Christ can fully heal my brother and alleviate his suffering.

Thank you for your kind prayers at this difficult time.

And let us remember in prayer the many other people in hospitals and nursing homes across America, and their helpless condition. What will happen to THEM under a martial law scenario?

I am now reading accounts of victims of Hurricane Katrina now, especially the elderly and handicapped in nursing homes. The truth is not pretty. In a state of emergency, many of these helpless people were abandoned. And many of those abandoned and left behind died under squalid and horrific conditions.

When things are going normally in our society, the care of the elderly and handicapped can proceed as usual. But when times of crisis and emergency arise, the fate of these helpless sick, elderly and handicapped people lies in the balance. What would happen to them if their caregivers and workers suddenly abandoned them and all rushed home to take care of their children and loved ones, in a state of emergency???

As I sit here, praying with my brother, I am acutely conscious of what may happen in our nation, America, today near the end of 2013. Reports of potential disasters and crises for October and beyond have been going viral across the Internet. Researchers all know that foreign troops have been coming into America all summer long. Such troops have been seen delivering heavy armored vehicles for DHS to police departments nationwide.

Rumors of planned economic collapse are circulating. Reports of planned pandemics and deliberate release of "zombie virus" are also being posted across the Internet. I just received a phone call from a person in NW Montana, who told me of the presence of military involved in a strange operation going on there today, October 1st, 2013.

If there IS an economic collapse..if there IS a planned pandemic...or earthquake... or other disasters, where does that leave the elderly, handicapped and infirmed???

The only truly reliable care such people can receive in times of severe crisis, is through their own trusted family members being with them throughout the ordeal.

And that is exactly why I decided that I must be here with my brother at this time.

May God bless and protect you and your loved ones that may also include the elderly, informed and handicapped, throughout these times we all face together,
by HIS grace and mercy and protection,
through Jesus Christ Our Savior.

Continue to pray for Brother John.
May God's holy and merciful will
be done regarding him.

UPDATE on Going to NC TO Help Brother John

By Pamela Rae Schuffert presenting investigative journalism from a Biblical Christian perspective-
I want to take the time to thank you, dear readers, for your prayers and support to help me relocate now to North Carolina to help my severely handicapped brother in a nursing home there.

The funds necessary for GAS to travel 2,500 miles have been  provided. THANK YOU!

My greatest need at this time is to obtain a personal small U-HAUL type trailer (5X8). Whatever few possessions I have left in this world, I must bring with me. (Clothes and musical instruments for ministry, etc.) They are stored in a small storage unit locally. I cannot leave without them: they are essential and needed for Christian outreach, especially once I arrive.

Between times spent helping my brother, I plan to travel throughout the mountains of NC to provide ministry and Christian outreach to people throughout that region. That is also why a small cargo trailer is essential:I need to transport my largeprinter to produce Christian tracts and literature, an accordion and other musical instruments for ministry, etc.

My ministry to America must continue, until it is physically impossible.

I refuse to rent a U-HAUL trailer, because after spending hundreds of dollars on RENTAL, you have nothing to show for your money. Also, being without my own home, I mus thave something to store my possessions in. I am looking for a small affordable U-HAUL type cargo trailer to purchase instead. LOWES has a 5X8 for an affordable price. I am also looking for used trailer sources as well.

Please pray with me that I can locate and purchase one as quickly as possible. This is the only thing left to accomplish before I am able to relocate to my brother.

Thank you for caring!

Continue to pray for John: he is doing much better, now that he knows I am coming. And because of your many prayers for him! I have been sending him small care boxes with items to encourage him as well, and he loves this. He appreciates your prayers, since he is in continual pain now.

I will be turning this trip to be with my brother into another  PRAYER JOURNEY ACROSS AMERICA. I have gone on many previous prayer journeys across our nation, with amazing results and encounters all the way from one coast to another.

Because of the potential for full-blown martial law coming down this year, this may be my FINAL prayer journey across our nation. Therefore, I am going to make it a very powerful Christian outreach.

Thank you for your critically needed support, and God bless you all.
