Recently, I read a post on FACEBOOK from a Christian, who went into elaborate reasoning as to "WHY CHRISTIANS SHOULD NOT BE PREPPERS." Frankly, I was dumbfounded at the illogical reasoning behind that post.

GOD WANTS HIS PEOPLE TO BE PREPARED TO FACE EVERY COMING CRISIS AND EMERGE VICTORIOUS! Our God is a miracle God, but He is also a practical Father as well. He loves His people and wants them to be blessed and uplifted to face every crisis in victory.

The Bible states that THE HOLY SPIRIT SHALL SHOW YOU THINGS TO COME. And there is more than one reason.

Many years ago, God gave a firm warning by His Holy Spirit to Christians in one village in ARMENIA, Christians in this village received a vision and a prophecy telling the that great disaster was coming to their village, and they would have to flee to the country God would show them IF they were to survive.

Some scoffed at this and IGNORED THE WARNING FROM GOD. But others wisely heeded the revelation, and sold their homes and properties and relocated to AMERICA, where God told them they would be safe for a season.

And shortly thereafter, THE TURKS INVADED ARMENIA! THEIR VILLAGE WAS DEVASTATED, AND EVERY CHRISTIAN WHO REMAINED WAS SLAUGHTERED AND THEIR HOMES DESTROYED!

But those Christians who wisely heeded the warnings of God, remained safe and prospered in the new country God had led them to. These Armenian Christians included DEMOS SHAKARIAN, founder of "THE FULL GOSPEL BUSINESSMEN'S FELLOWSHIP". He also wrote the book, THE HAPPIEST PEOPLE ON EARTH. In this book he recounted how the Holy Spirit told him and his family and others to FLEE ARMENIA while there was yet time.

Yes, God loves His people and WANTS them to prepare to face coming hardships and crises! God proves this repeatedly throughout His written word, the Bible.

God warned NOAH of a terrible flood to come, and instructed him how to successfully PREPARE, or PREP, for the coming crisis. 

God warned of a great famine to come to Egypt, and revealed to Joseph what to do to save many lives by prepping with food supplies for the coming times of famine. And one family saved by prepping, was Joseph's family and Jacob himself.

The Bible clearly states in the New Testament that FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD. Christians TRUST GOD and His promises to supply the things that they need, and food to feed their family, etc. 

But such Christians also realize that "faith without works is dead," and they also have jobs and work to help provide for their families and their needs as well.

God does the IMPOSSIBLE, are we are called to perform THE POSSIBLE. We are called as Christians to act maturely and responsibly, including when facing crises.

Therefore, I heartily encourage all my readers to wisely PREPARE FOR THE COMING TIMES OF TESTING AND DISASTER AND FAMINE, where food may be very difficult to obtain, and other survival items as well. GOD HAS MADE PROVISION through what is now available online, in food stores and other survival gear and camping outlets as well.

OBTAIN WHAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WILL NEED IN THE FUTURE WHILE SUCH ITEMS ARE STILL PLENTIFUL AND READILY AVAILABLE!

SOME SIMPLE QUESTIONS FOR YOU:

-Two people are going to run in a race. One person spends quality time preparing for the race, building up strength and endurance and eating properly. The other refuses to prepare in practical ways.On the day of the race, both of them participate. Which one do you think will WIN THE RACE??? THE ONE WHO PREPARED!

- Two people want a career in the medical profession. One goes to college and studies hard to prepare for a medical career. The other simply "hopes" to have a medical career some day, but does nothing to accomplish this. WHO is going to succeed in achieving this goal? THE PERSON WHO PREPARED!

The Bible states that the wise foresee trouble coming, and wisely prepare, BUT the fool simply goes on without preparing for it, and is punished for it.

I personally believe that a person is a fool for failing to prepare in practical ways, whenever reasonably certain that a disaster and crisis is coming.

People are foolish when they fail to heed the weather warnings that a tornado is coming their way! People are foolish if they live on the ocean and fail to take safety precautions when warned that a major hurricane is heading their way and soon! Yes, you CAN and SHOULD pray over every crisis, for safety and protection and provision. I do so every single day.

HOWEVER, God also calls His people to do THEIR PART as well. As is says in the Epistle of James, "FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD." And so are well, IF WE FAIL to do the right things in preparing for coming crises and famines and disasters.

God warned Noah that a deadly flood was coming...but NOAH HAD TO BUILD THAT ARK TO SAVE HIS LIFE AND HIS FAMILY!

Friends, it is ARK-BUILDING TIME in North America! Time may be very short to get your house in order, and to PREPARE SUCCESSFULLY TO WITHSTAND THE COMING STORM. DO NOT PUT OFF PREPARING WHILE SUPPLIES ARE STILL AVAILABLE!

Prepper Essentials: The Survival Knife

THE ESSENTIAL SURVIVAL KNIFE

If the American pioneers who settled this nation needed survival knives, you can be very certain that EVERY PREPPER also needs to have a quality camping/survival knife in their "bug-out bag". 

By "bug-out bag," I am referring to a quality, top-of-the-line outdoor expedition backpack. You may have to live out of your backpack for  very long time under a martial law type scenario. Somehow, a WALMART cheap day pack is simply not going to take good care of you long term when it all comes down.

I recommend going to a quality outdoor shop near you, especially ones like GANDER MOUNTAIN or CABELA'S, DICK'S SPORTING GOODS  or REI that stock quality outdoor supplies. Brands such as OSPREY or GREGORY MOUNTAIN or NORTH FACE will work very well for the prepper's basic needs. 

I know, because I have owned a quality backpack in all three brands. I have lived out of a backpack 6 months in Germany, several months in Israel, and of course while traveling all across America for years now. Having the right backpack to carry and live out of is essential to comfort and survival on the road.

But now, back to the subject of KNIVES.

Having lived in an Eskimo village in the Arctic circle for a year, I understand that importance of having a quality outdoor camping/survival knife. My CASE four interchangeable blades knife (made in the USA) proved essential in Alaska.

People were continually bringing me moose, caribou, arctic hare and countless Alaskan salmon to  process by hand for the freezer. My CASE (brand) four blade knife proved invaluable when it came to processing by hand all this meat.

Sometimes I needed a blade for sawing. Skinning and processing wild game often requires different knife blades for various surfaces, etc.

This version of the CASE knife is nice because it weighs less than four separate knives, yet provides four different cutting blades. Excellent long term survival knife for backpacking and bug-out bags. I personally own two CASE 4-blade knives, and may even invest in a third. You will always need extras and they are great for barter and the back market in the future, because EVERYONE NEEDS SURVIVAL KNIVES just to make it in an emergency,especially a long term emergency.

I also have a quality BUCK FOLDING KNIFE (made in USA) with single blade, just to fall back upon. They are sturdy quality products that will last for a long time and hold their blade well.

There are all kinds of knife sharpeners available for the prepper and camper. The simplest and most convenient is this version below, available at most outdoor shops like REI. You simply draw your knife blade through each slot. One side is for coarse, the other is for fine sharpening. Very simple! And this kind is very inexpensive as well.

Some may prefer the older oil and sharpening stone method. I have both kinds of knife sharpeners on hand.

For more serious and intensive skinning and processing of wild game on a regular basis, there are special cutlery knife kits that greatly aid in skinning wild game and processing it.

Some campers and survivalists and hunters prefer lightweight handle knives that also have good blades. Personally, I believe that such handles, though lighter to carry and backpack, can also be damaged more easily than the resilient BUCK and CASE knives with solid metal and wood handles. A knife becomes almost useless if the handle is destroyed or damaged.

I encourage my readers to perform research on various camping/hunting/survival knives and make some quality selections while they are freely available in most outdoor and camping stores. Never rely on merely ONE knife. 

Always purchase multiple knives, including various types, realizing that they can break, become lost, or you may need to use them for bartering in the future. The same is also true for purchasing knife sharpeners. Have extras on hand. They too will be useful for barter in the future. A knife with a dull blade is not nearly as effective as one with a sharp blade!

Here's to your successful prepping survival in the future! And always remember: "Faith without works is dead." God does His part, and we are to do ours. 

God has already made these things available for you to purchase and obtain. Now it is up to YOU to properly select and provide the essentials for your future. Stock up on them while you can. Once a state of emergency or martial law descends on your region, it will become much harder to find or obtain them, maybe even impossible for some items. PREPARE NOW!

RECORD COLD WEATHER IS COMING!

But of course, life must continue as usual, or at least try to. People must drive to work, pick up children from school, travel to various locations to shop or visit, etc. This means that vehicles must be used regardless of the cold temperatures or amount of wind and snow.

IS YOUR VEHICLE PREPARED IN CASE OF 

A WEATHER EMERGENCY ON THE ROAD??? 

Do YOU have all the basic survival essentials packed away in your vehicle, should you unexpectedly find yourself stranded on the highway or Interstate? What if the roads are icy or blocked with falling snow, and you find yourself detained by a huge car pileup as a result? Or what if your vehicle should slide off the road or down an embankment?

Do you have BLANKETS? Emergency food and water supplies? Extra gloves and socks and boots and emergency daypack in case you have to walk to safety and temporarily abandon your car? A large umbrella or waterproof outerwear to protect from the elements and to stay dry?

Thankfully, I DO have a vehicle that is fully equipped to withstand major road emergencies. After living out of my vehicle periodically for 13 years now as I travel on the road to perform my investigative journalism, I have learned by experience HOW TO PREPARE MY VEHICLE TO FACE ANY EMERGENCY.

With uncertain times coming to America, and the real possibility of MARTIAL LAW BEING DECLARED, it is important for all PREPPERS to take the time and finances to prepare their vehicles to face emergencies while traveling on the road.

Below is my report revealing what I have done to prepare my vehicle to successfully handle most emergencies on the road, including life-threatening circumstances.

Much of the USA is still staggering under the weight of the first major snowstorms of 2014. Pictures of huge care pile-ups on major interstates and highways can be found everywhere. In many places, motorists have been temporarily stranded as accidents caused hours, even overnight delays on the highways across America.

The cold air blast has also hit the region where I am now in western North Carolina. Last night the frigid cold air came in with a vengeance, with wind gusts of up to 60 MPH. Sleeping in my SUV was to prove a challenge as the temperature went down into the teens with high winds.

However, after years of car camping to facilitate my traveling nationwide for my journalism, I have developed the skills essential for safely surviving in my vehicle throughout the winter season. And last night (01/03/2014), even as the winds shook my vehicle and the temperatures grew colder, I slept as snug as a bug in a rug! Not a hint of cold penetrated my nice warm bed in my SUV.

I have survived car camping trips in the winter in wilderness regions of Wyoming and Montana and beyond. I have safely endured sleeping in my unheated vehicle at high altitudes (8,000 feet or so) with the temperature dipping to -32 degrees below zero. I have been snowed in my vehicle by blizzards in areas such as West Yellowstone, Montana, where the winter temps can reach -52 below.

Having lived on the road most of the time in the past 13 years, I have gone through numerous winters living in my vehicle. Through such experiences, I have developed a vast amount of experience regarding how to successfully live and survive in my vehicle, and do so safely and comfortably.

In my roomy Chevy Tahoe SUV, I have put all the rear seats down and installed a Coleman inflatable queen size mattress. This mattress has been covered with flannel sheets. Then, it has been topped with a basic and inexpensive sleeping bag, unzipped and opened to cover the whole top of the mattress. 

On top of this has been placed a foam mattress and a woolen blanket. All this is to provide insulation and sleeping comfort, so that the cold air cannot some up from beneath in the air mattress.

A functional comforter has been placed on top of all this, finally topped with a four-sheepskin rug, thick and furry. All this layering is essential to provide ultimate warmth and comfort on my mattress in colder temperatures.

On top of me is a MARMOT 40 degree below zero rated down sleeping bag, unzipped to form a broad covering. Beneath this incredibly warm sleeping bag, I use a thick blanket as well. The sheepskin rug beneath me, coupled with the power of down and a warm blanket covering me, serves to create incredible heat and comfort.

Last night I was literally rocked to sleep under the stars by the blustery winds, as they buffeted my SUV. How warm did I feel throughout the night? Picture if you will, two nice slices of toast from from the toaster, with a slice of butter placed between them, melting from both sides from the hot toast. I was the butter! Warm and toasty, no pun intended.

I have just described one way to effectively safely sleep comfortably in your unheated vehicle in the winter. I also leave one window slightly cracked to provide fresh air all throughout the night.

STOCKING YOUR VEHICLE WITH 

PRACTICAL SURVIVAL GEAR

I also have stocked my vehicle with much practical survival gear. To provide emergency lighting, I have several flashlights, a head lamp, a "candle lantern" and numerous candles for it, plus matches and lighters and even a magnifying glass. I also have a powerful twelve volt rechargeable spotlight flashlight for road  emergencies.

To protect my body, I have several pairs of warm gloves and thick woolen socks, and several sweaters. Over my sweaters I wear a rainproof/windproof shell. I have several warm winter hats as well. A pair of sneakers (for warmer weather) and hiking boots for winter to protect my feet are also stored in my vehicle. 

For very snowy and windy weather I also carry a pair of professional snow goggles with automatic defoggers built in. A snow mask to protect my face is also a part of my gear. Snowshoes are in the top cargo carrier of my SUV.

To transport much of my safety/survival gear, in the rear of my SUV I have inserted a cargo carrier platform. Two heavy duty lockable trunks rest upon it, chained safely to this platform. Inside one of them I carry food supplies and a large supply of bottled water. In the other trunk I carry jump start cables, oil and various auto fluids, Coleman camp fuel and propane, and other auto supplies as well.

This cargo carrier is available at WALMART and other stores near you.

On top of my SUV I have a large cargo carrier topper that is able to contain my essential basic survival backpack with many supplies, plus snowshoes and hiking poles, bathroom items (soap and shampoos, toothpaste and deodorants, etc.) (Actually, I am in the process of replacing my much smaller cargo carrier with a nice Yakima skybox, largest model to effectively contain more essentials.)

Inside my SUV I also have hung three travel clothing poles on the hooks inside, near the ceiling.

Carabiners are clamped on and hanging from these poles, from which I can hang battery powered lanterns, or mesh bags filled with various camping/travel supplies.

Inside these mesh bags I have various survival supplies such as my candle lantern, extra candles, camping knife sharpeners, extra batteries of various sizes, a box of disposable hand warmers and much more. 

Important roadside emergency supplies should include: roadside flares and even a flare gun should your vehicle go accidentally go off the road. A quality jack or hydraulic lift for emergency flat tire changes. A 12 volt air compressor to fill your tires when low. Several cans of "Fix-a-flat." Extra oil and other essential fluids for your vehicle. Extra fuses of different kinds. Extra gasoline in a safe, approved container. Proper wrenches and tools to change a tire. A rechargeable jump starter for when your battery goes dead comes in very handy. A small portable propane heater for emergencies.

A shovel and bag of kitty litter are handy to help your car regain traction whenever stuck in the snow.

Don't forget important paper products such as disposable wipes and paper towels and toilet paper as well. Personal hygiene needs will continue throughout every emergency, unfortunately.

A MEDICAL EMERGENCY SUPPLIES DAYPACK is also an important part of my survival supplies in my vehicle. I have packed a daypack backpack with assorted medical items such as bandages of assorted sizes, surgical tape, tweezers, scissors, an EXACTO razor knife (emergency minor surgery), assorted sewing needles and floss suitable for emergency sutures and stitches, alcohol wipes, disinfectants, pain killers, ace bandages, antibiotics, disposable rubber gloves, and more.

Be creative, resourceful and innovative as you prepare your vehicle to withstand any emergency, especially in the winter with temperatures that can be life threatening. Refuse to be a victim of your circumstances while traveling on the road.

Hello Pamela,

First let me thank you for your faithful, courageous, and diligent ministry of researching and communicating with the body of Christ Jesus about what is coming to the world and what we need to be doing to prepare ourselves and others.   I do not have internet at home but recently started reading your postings again on computers at the public library.

After discerning the Lord's will over a long period of time, last July 2012 I moved to a wilderness property just north of Minnesota in the Rainy River area of Northwestern Ontario, Canada.  Since that time I have suffered some financial reversals and owe some Christian people sums of money.  I have been seeking the Lord's direction on how to pay off the debts and to continue in His will for my life.  At the moment I have no income and do not have a pension to look forward to.  I am 58 years of age, and single.


I have the property listed on the internet in a few places, such as at www.ecoproperty.ca  My listing may be viewed at:http://www.ecoproperty.ca/propd.php?id=20591  My property is located near Sleeman Ontario.   Yesterday I had an inspiration that I should consider that there may be a Christian ministry which might wish to obtain the property at a greatly reduced price, so that I could pay off my debt and get on with my life. 


The property includes a 2400 square foot house plus a garage with a built in stable and chicken coop, an excellent well, and the electric power is provided by solar panels.  There is some finishing work to be done inside and out, like drywall and trim, and some repairs and upgrades also required.  The born again Christian minister who built the place had to leave it in its present condition before he could finish it.

If you think of any ministry or a family who may want to live in a peaceful, safe, and self-sufficient area, would you please let them know about this?   Would you also agree in prayer with me that the Lord's will be done?  I had relatives in Holland who sheltered Jews from the Nazis and have wondered in what way the Lord would use this property to shelter His true remnant in the coming trials.  There is plenty of room for many people on 80 acres.

First of all, where is the headquarters of this “Doomsday Preppers Movement” I’ve been reading about? And where can I sign up? I didn’t realize there was an organized movement, one deserving of capital letters. Who is the leader of this “movement”? I’d like to meet him (or her) immediately!

The propaganda machine is not only going after guns in the wake of the terrible tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School – this has become a two-for-the-price-of-one crisis, allowing the government and media to yet again, demonize preppers.

Psychological Warfare:

Various techniques are used, by any set of groups, and aimed to influence a target audience’s value systems, belief systems, emotions, motives, reasoning, or behavior. It is used to induce confessions or reinforce attitudes and behaviors favorable to the originator’s objectives and are sometimes combined with black operations or false flag tactics. Target audiences can be governments, organizations, groups, and individuals.

Yesterday the mainstream media began churning out articles about Nancy Lanza, the mother of the shooter, Adam Lanza. When you read the following quotes, ask yourself: “How many of these comments could describe ME?”

A few descriptive quotes:

• Nancy was a member of the Doomsday Preppers movement, which believes people should prepare for end of the world. (Riehl World View)
• According to reports, Nancy Lanza was a so-called ‘prepper’, a part of the survivalist movement which urges individuals to prepare for the breakdown of society by training with weapons and hoarding food and other supplies. ( The UK Independent)
• Reports are starting to emerge of the troubled young man and his unusual upbringing. (Yahoo)
• Dan Holmes, owner of a landscaping firm who worked on the family’s home, said she was an avid gun collector: ‘She told me she would go target shooting with her kids.’ (UK Daily Mail)
• Marsha Lanza described Nancy as ‘self-reliant’.( The UK Independent)
• He was reportedly homeschooled by his mother, a school principal and gun enthusiast, who wasn’t satisfied with the education her son was receiving.. (Yahoo)
• As America searches for answers, investigators are turning towards Nancy Lanza’s supposed identification as a survivalist. (Yahoo)
• Her former sister-in-law Marsha said she had turned her home ‘into a fortress’. (UK Daily Mail)
• Mother of Sandy Hook school gunman Adam Lanza was a ‘prepper’ survivalist preparing for economic and social collapse, say reports. ( The UK Independent)
• Mrs Lanza is thought to have trained her sons, Adam and Ryan to shoot, even taking them to local ranges. ( The UK Independent)
• ‘Nancy had a survivalist philosophy which is why she was stockpiling guns. She had them for defense. She was stockpiling food. She grew up on a farm in New Hampshire. She was skilled with guns. We talked about preppers and preparing for the economy collapsing.’ (UK Daily Mail)

Gee…they say this stuff like it’s a BAD thing.

Let’s see.

• Stockpiles (or hoards) food….check.
• Takes children target shooting….check.
• Preparing for economic and/or social collapse….check.
• Serious about home defense….check.
• Home is well-fortified against criminals….check.
• Skilled with weapons….check.
• Survivalist philosophy….check.
• Self-reliant….check.
• Believes that we are capable of educating our children at home….check.

Nancy Lanza’s description could apply to nearly any prepper. Preppers have been cast in an ugly light for quite some time. We are painted as camo-clad survivalists, clenching a knife in our teeth while unloading an automatic weapon into some real or imagined threat. After our Rambo-esque rampage, we will crouch in the forest by a campfire, shoveling down an MRE while glaring suspiciously into the dark, a large Katana hunting knife close at hand with which to dispatch the next enemy.

The assault on preppers through the media is becoming more and more focused. Let’s look at some recent examples.

We were described last month by emergency manager Valerie Lucus-MacEwen as “socially selfish” – even though the existence of prepared people makes her supplies go further to help the unprepared. In an editorial meant for other emergency managers, Ms. Lucus-MacEwen arrogantly asserted, “You might wonder why someone like me, who has been in the business of encouraging disaster preparedness for a very long time, is so critical of people who are doing just that. It’s because they are being socially selfish – preparing themselves and the hell with everyone else. Instead of spending time and energy making changes that would benefit the larger community, in their very narrow focus of loyalty they are more concerned about themselves.”

The National Geographic program Doomsday Preppers also has had a lot to do with the demonization of preppers – it’s a full-court press propaganda attack against preppers. The program finds the most outrageous examples of preparedness possible and edits to make them look foolish. An article on the American Preppers Network explains the modus operandi:

The show severely skews Preppers in an effort that can be summed up as “making good television”. This is evident not only through viewing the show itself, but through the format they have built the show around. Some highlights of that format include:

• Featuring one Prepper for 15 minutes only, ensuring that you don’t get too comfortable with them or learn very much about them
• Requiring each guest to pigeon-hole themselves into one thing they are preparing for – almost always a “doomsday” scenario
• Creating conflict and drama via their “experts” who review the segment and then condemn or condone what the Prepper has done – all within the context of the “one thing” they’re preparing for

Do you really believe that each of the families on that show only focus on one particular scenario? No – they are portrayed in a way to marginalize the philosophy of preparedness. We, as preppers, are a threat to the powers that be.

One participant on the show, David Sarti, learned that his appearance could have serious ramifications. Mr. Sarti “took one for the team” when, only days after the program aired, however, David Sarti was declared “mentally incompetent”….and his guns were seized. All of them. Mr. Sarti, who has no criminal record, is no longer allowed to own guns. He tells his story here.

Apparently, the Constitution no longer applies to those who are categorized as preppers.

The accusation of insanity came after he went to see his cardiologist for some chest pains and shortness of breath. So far, it sounds sane and rational to me. The cardiologist, Dr. Andre C. Olivier, whose name and contact information I am delighted to publish, had Mr. Sarti held at the hospital for psychiatric evaluation and broke doctor patient confidentiality by contacting the authorities. 

Then it really went to hell on a greased slide. Mr. Sarti, because of his stay in the psychiatric unit, was then declared “mentally incompetent”. His very large collection of guns was then stolen removed from his possession. He is no longer allowed to own weapons.

Earlier this month, Maryland resident Terry Porter had his home descended upon by 150 armed federal agents and local police officers. The raid also included helicopters, SWAT crews, armored vehicles and excavation equipment.

His crimes? He was known as a prepper, he was unhappy with the reelection of Barack Obama, and he owned guns. He “openly admitted being a prepper.”

So, why all the vilification? Why are preppers the new “boogeymen”? Why are we being pigeonholed as people who homeschool our kids and turn them into mass murderers of elementary school students?

Simple…because we don’t NEED help. We do not require the assistance of the government. We don’t need to line up for 5 hours to wait for a paltry bottle of water and an MRE after a hurricane strikes. We don’t call 911 and hide in a closet waiting for the police to arrive.

Preppers threaten the very existence of all of the social safety nets that are set up. We can’t be easily manipulated by the offer of a free flu shot and a grocery store gift card in exchange for our weapons. We think critically and don’t automatically accept the programming of the mainstream media, whose job it is to provide people with the opinions that they should hold. We don’t shovel in the HFCS-laden genetically modified crap, otherwise known as “food”, killing our brain cells and dumbing us down into cattle to be easily led to slaughter.

We are the last bastion of independent self-reliant thinkers. 

And the powers that be are very afraid of those who think for themselves, rather than regurgitating the media-presented party line.

I don’t know why Adam Lanza went on a rampage and killed 26 people last week. But I do know that it wasn’t because his mother was a homeschooling prepper who stored up food and taught him to fire a gun at a paper target.
